Company Overview
The Upper Salford Volunteer Company is a non-profit organization that formed in 1947 for the purpose of providing fire protection to the residents of Upper Salford Township. Our membership is comprised of approximately 30 active members. All members respond to the station upon activation of their pagers via Montgomery County Communications.
Water Supply Information
Upper Salford Township does not have a public water system. Water needed for fire fighting is provided via a combination of natural water sources such as ponds, creeks, and water storage systems. Water is drafted from these sources and transported to the fire scene via a tanker shuttle if necessary. Training drills have demonstrated that a fire flow rate of 1,000 gallons per minute can be delivered and sustained for a period of two hours.
Each engine that responds to our township also carry a minimum of 1,000 feet of (5 inch) large diameter supply hose for use in a pumper relay.
